Grasonville

Lawrence Donald Toth, known to many as Larry, passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 65 in Grasonville, MD. Born on July 2, 1958 in Bethesda, MD, to parents Albert Andrew Toth, Jr. and Rose Mary Toth, Larry’s life was filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments.

Larry is survived by his parents; his sister, JoAnn (William) Potter; his brother, Timothy (Jennifer) Toth; and his beloved nieces and nephews: Janna Green, Victoria (KC) Jones, Bryan Toth, Emily (Ryan) Pollione, Regina (Connor) Simoncelli, Michael Potter, Hannah (Benjamin) Callahan, Katharine Toth, Paul Potter, and Akira Potter. Larry also leaves behind a grandnephew, two grandnieces, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Gregory Alan Toth, and his sister, Autum Catana Winter.

Growing up as the son of a Marine, Larry settled down many times in many places, but by far the dearest home for him was Oahu. He had an abiding love for the Hawaiian Islands, and he welcomed all his siblings, friends, and loved ones to come out to experience the love of the islands with him. Living there during his adolescence and early adulthood was a huge part of his healing and growth.

Larry pursued his education at the University of Maryland and the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business, obtaining a master’s degree in accounting. His career began at Deloitte and Touche, where he demonstrated his exceptional skills and dedication. He later transitioned to private practice, where he passionately served his personal clients for decades, earning their trust and respect, from which he cultivated some lifelong friendships.

Beyond his professional achievements, Larry had a deep appreciation for his beloved Eastern Shore. He enjoyed crabbing, golfing, and being on the water. He was an avid music lover and over the years had generously volunteered his time to several blues organizations, sharing his love for music with others. His enthusiasm for Orioles baseball, the Ravens, and most notably, his Maryland Terrapins basketball team, was well-known among his friends and family.

Larry’s generosity and kind-hearted nature were evident to many who knew him. He had a special affection for his diverse network of friends. Known for his engaging storytelling, Larry’s gatherings, particularly his famous crab feasts, were always filled with joy and laughter.

Larry’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and zest for living life his way will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of his life with family and friends will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Beall Funeral Home (6512 NW Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20715). A private Mass for the family will be held at St. Mary’s Church in Phoenixville, PA, on Saturday, July 27, 2024, followed by interment at St. Ann Cemetery in Phoenixville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable donations be made in Larry’s memory to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.

This isn’t goodbye; it’s aloha.
