Lesley Marie Fallon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, educator, and friend, passed away on September 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, family, and a lifelong devotion to children and their education.
Lesley was born in New York on May 22, 1949, to George Wesley Childs and Marie Aceto. She was the loving sister of Lindalee Shive and grew into a woman whose warmth, wit, generosity, and determination touched generations of family, friends, and students.
One of the greatest love stories of Lesley’s life began when she was just 16. At a high school dance, she met 17-year-old Andrew John Fallon. That meeting marked the beginning of a partnership that would span six decades. Lesley and Andrew married in July 1970 and shared 56 years of memories. As a military family, they built their life side by side through multiple moves and new adventures, including living in Germany. Wherever they went, Lesley created a home filled with family, warmth, laughter, and love. She was a proud military wife and a devoted partner to Andrew throughout his career.
Lesley attended The Mary Louis Academy and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. She dedicated more than 45 years to education, specializing in early childhood education. She was passionate about giving children the best possible start in life and devoted herself to helping young learners thrive. Throughout her career, she worked with programs including Head Start and the Maryland State Department of Education Childcare Scholarship program.
While Lesley gave much of herself to her career and community, her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and cousin, always finding ways to make the people she loved feel cared for and celebrated.
Lesley is survived by her husband, Colonel (Ret.) Andrew John Fallon; her children, Sean Fallon and his wife, Melissa, and Seannon Fallon and her husband, Emmanouel; and her grandchildren, Mason, Blake, Gavin, and Hamilton. She is also survived by her sister, Lindalee Shive, and by nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Those who knew Lesley will remember her beautiful smile, sassy wit, quick humor, glamorous and wonderfully elaborate party planning, and exceptional cooking. She had a gift for bringing people together and making ordinary occasions feel special. And, invariably, she could be found crocheting another beautiful, lovingly made blanket for someone she cared about. Each blanket was more than a handmade gift—it was a tangible expression of her love.
Lesley leaves behind not only a family who adored her, but also countless children, families, colleagues, and friends whose lives were made brighter by her presence. Her love, laughter, creativity, and unwavering belief in children will remain part of her legacy.
From a high school dance when they were just 16 and 17, through 56 years of marriage, military moves, life in Germany, raising a family, and countless celebrations and quiet moments together, Lesley and Andrew built a remarkable life. Their story was one of enduring love, partnership, resilience, and family—a story that will continue to live on through the people and memories they created together.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
