LInda Elaine Sutton

Linda Elaine Sutton (Windsor) passed peacefully at home on January 22, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply. Born on March 14, 1949, to Sherman and Mattie Windsor, Linda was raised in Hyattsville, Maryland. She carried the values of family, faith, kindness, and lovethroughout her life.

On December 7, 1968, Linda married the love of her life, Thomas A. Sutton Jr., at First Baptist Church of Hyattsville. For 57 years, they shared a life filled with love, family, and countless memories. Together, they raised four sons—Thomas III, Daniel, Clinton, and Michael Sutton—and created a home where family was always at the center.

Linda was a devoted wife and mother who chose to dedicate her life to caring for her family. She found happiness in the everyday moments: preparing a home-cooked meal, spending time with the people she loved, listening to music, enjoying the warmth of summertime, and watching herfamily grow.

She was a gentle and quiet soul, sweet in spirit and positive in heart. Linda had a way of showing her love not necessarily through grand gestures, but through her presence, her care, and the countless little things she did for those around her. Her family knew that they were lovedbecause Linda made loving them a part of everything she did.

Linda was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Her faith gave her strength throughout her life, and we find comfort knowing that she is now resting peacefully in His presence.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mattie Windsor; her sisters, Alice Douglas, Mattie Powel, and Mary Ann Rice; and her brothers, Richard Windsor and Sherman Ray Windsor, affectionately known as "Buddy."

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Thomas A. Sutton; her four sons; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Stanley Windsor; her sister, Sandra Beaton; and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Linda's greatest legacy is not something that can be held in our hands. It is found in the family she raised, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched. Her chair may be empty, her voice may be quiet, and we will miss her more than wordscan say—but her love will remain with us always.
