Lirio “Lily” Gloria Reyes Jao entered peacefully into eternal rest surrounded by her loved ones in Bowie, Maryland on August 12, 2022 after a short illness. She was 73 years old.

Born on January 1, 1949 in Cauayan, Isabela, Philippines to Juanito Talosig Reyes and Bibiana Dalupang Reyes. She grew up in Cauayan, Isabela along with her 6 siblings. Lily studied at Our Lady of the Pillar Institution and Isabela College. Soon after she became an Elementary school teacher.

On June 22,1974 she married Her husband Teodoto “Doty” Jao.

She immigrated to the United States in 1996 and lived in Vallejo, California before settling in the suburbs of Maryland.

For the last several years she spent most of her time traveling back and forth to the Philippines. More recently, she started to build a vacation home and a new business.

Lily loved cooking ,singing karaoke and the outdoors. Taking road-trips and picnics in the park with her loved ones was where she was happiest.

She survived by her devoted children and their spouses; Jeoffrey Jade Jao (wife Mavis) Harold King Jao (wife Ellen) Vanessa Joyce Shibata (Husband Casey) and Cristian Jao

She was the loving sister of Ruben Reyes (wife Ging), Fely Soriano, Liza Ignao (husband Jose), Ronnie Damatan (husband Mario), Rosemarie Rico, (husband Ismael), Rey Reyes (wife Fely) and Sherwyn Reyes

She was loved dearly by her grandchildren, Kenneth, Crystal, Javis, Spencer, Christian, Michael and Michelle.

She will be remembered fondly by her many nieces and nephews, extended family and close friends.

Lily is preceded in death by her parents, Juanito and Bibiana, her husband Doty, her sister Fely Soriano and brother Ruben Reyes. We can only imagine their beautiful reunion at Heaven’s gates.

Lily was loved by so many and will be remembered for her beautiful and giving heart. Anything that was hers she offered freely to those who needed it. God truly used her as a vessel to bless others. She will be missed terribly.
