Maria Albert, 98 of Annapolis MD, passed away on July 29th. Maria was born in Puerto Rico on July 20, 1925. After graduating nursing school, she began her career as a Registered Nurse at D.C. General Hospital and retired after 20+ years. As a dedicated nurse, she worked many double shifts, and always helped others in the neighborhood when needed.
Her favorite activity was crocheting and she devoted many hours volunteering at the church making blankets and accessories for the needy. She had a love for roosters and collected many figurines as well as spending time with family.
In 1954, she met her spouse Sol and they wed in 1955, going on to have three children, Mark, Kathy and Michael.
They were married 45yrs until his passing in July of 2000. Other surviving family members include daughter-in-law Cheryl and son-in-law Eddie. There are three grandkids, two great grand kids, two step grand kids, five step great grand kids, as well as many nieces and nephews.
