Mark Anton Bokovoy

Mark Anton Bokovoy, born on March 22, 1961, in Lansing, MI, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Mark was the beloved son of the late Michael James Bokovoy and Barbara Marie Cervanka. He is survived by his daughter, Meagan Lynn Bokovoy, who was his pride and joy. Mark shared 16 years with his partner, Theresa Carzon, whose companionship brought happiness and stability to his life.

He is survived by his siblings, Michael Lee Bokovoy (Christine), Michelle Kellar (Bill), and Marlene Wall (Michael Neal), as well as cherished nephews and nieces: Stephanie, LeAnn, Michael Matthew; Ally and Michael James (MJ); and Erin, and Elizabeth. Mark's family was his greatest treasure. He loved his family and friends even though there were many miles between everyone.

A proud graduate of DeWitt High School, Mark was an enthusiastic football player who continued his passion for the sport at Adrian College for two years. Following his education, Mark embarked on a fulfilling career in construction, which took him from Houston, TX, to Phoenix, AZ, and finally to Northern Virginia in 1985. He dedicated many years to his work before retiring and moving to Odenton, MD, where he found tranquility in his final days.

Mark's love for sports extended beyond his playing years. He was a lifelong fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines, often sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family. His passions also included golfing and hunting, activities he enjoyed immensely with his close friends. He was also a big fan of the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas.

A service to honor Mark's life will be held at Bealls Funeral Home, located at 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715, on Wednesday September 23 from 12:00-2:00 pm. Friends and family are welcome to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Mark's memory may consider donations to The Parkinson's Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson's disease and other Parkinson’s related diseases.
