Mary Ann G. McMahon

January 16, 1933 — October 1, 2021

Mary Ann Gerardi McMahon died peacefully on Friday, October 1, 2021 in Brookeville, MD.  She was born to Joseph and Mabel Connor Gerardi in Washington, D.C.  She had two siblings, twin sister M. Catherine Gerardi and brother Jerry Gerardi.  She attended St. Gabriel’s Grade School and Sacred High School.  

For over 20 years, Mary Ann worked for the federal government serving as a management and program analyst for the Department of Health & Human Services; she retired from her career in 1995. After retirement she was able to enjoy water aerobics, playing bridge with friends and spending time with her grandchildren. One of Mary Ann’s beloved traditions was an annual trip to Bethany Beach, DE where she hosted her four children, their spouses and seven grandchildren for a week at their favorite beach house.

Mary Ann married Eugene Patrick McMahon in 1956 and the two resided in Rockville, MD for over 50 years.  She is survived by her children Timothy, Eugene Jr. (Sheri), Thomas (Bonnie) McMahon and Catherine (Chris) Ganey; and grandchildren TJ (Danielle), Stephanie, Charlie, Jennifer, Dean, Devin and Connor.

A memorial mass will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney, MD.  Friends and family may visit with family before the mass beginning at 11 am.
