Mavis Bullard

Mavis Georgianna Bullard, age 79, of Landover Hills, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on January 7, 2026.

Mavis was a devoted educator, sister, and aunt whose life was rooted in faith, service, and learning. Teaching was her calling, and she dedicated many years to shaping young minds at Amidon-Bowen Elementary School in Washington, D.C.

Mavis had a generous and compassionate spirit. She served faithfully in her church and community, giving her time, talents, and encouragement to those in need. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleaver and Virginia Bullard, and brothers, Kenneth and Lester. Mavis is survived by her brothers Aldwyn (Joan), Laurence (Junette), and Clinton (Carmel); several nieces and nephews; a goddaughter; and a wide circle of friends and extended family who were blessed by her life. She rests peacefully as we await the blessed hope of the resurrection.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
