Michael R. Callahan

On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, Michael R. Callahan, of Crofton, MD, Beloved husband of Laurie A. Callahan for nearly 40 years, passed away. He was pre-deceased by his Parents, Robert J. Callahan and Jane S. Callahan; and his brother, Thomas R. Callahan (Mary Kay).  He is survived by two brothers, James M. Callahan (Kandis) and Patrick J. Callahan (Stacy); many nephews and nieces; great nephews and nieces; and cousins. Michael graduated from Gonzaga College High School, Class of 1976. He continued to further his education attending St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.

 

He was an avid sports enthusiast and played football and baseball at Gonzaga College High School. In his later years, he enjoyed softball and golf. He was active in the Severn Athletic Club and coached Youth League Football for ten years, including coaching his nephews, Colin and Brendan. 

 

He was a Project Manager for TSI Exterior Wall Systems, Inc. and proudly managed all of the glass installation for the Gaylord Hotel at the National Harbor. He and his brothers hosted the Annual Fore C's Golf Tournament.  The participants frequently requested to be in Mike's foursome, as it was guaranteed to be a good time. 

 

The viewing will be on Wednesday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beall Funeral Home at 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, MD 20715. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 1800 Seton Drive, Crofton, MD  21114, on Thursday, June 1, at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Lakemont Memorial Gardens.
