Michael McKinley Wills, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He shared 57 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Susan Clarke Wills, a partnership defined by enduring love and commitment.
Michael took great pride in his family, and his legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape. He was the proud father of five children and a cherished grandfather to fifteen grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense joy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Wills; his daughter Jennifer Gardiner and her husband William Gardiner, and their children Michael, Anna, Timothy, and Nicholas; his son Brendan Wills and his wife Christina Wills, and their children Samantha and Jacob; his son Brian Wills and his wife Jennifer Wills, and their children Riley and Brody; his daughter Katherine Beach and her husband Andrew Beach, and their children Madison, Hunter, and Cassidy; his son Matthew Wills and his wife Rachel Wills, and their children Delilah, Mason, and Isabella; and his sister Mary Anne Clarke.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Wills, and his beloved granddaughter, Mackenzie Beach, whom he held close in his heart.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Monday, May 4, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM at Beall Funeral Home in Bowie. A Mass celebrating Michael’s life will be held on Tuesday, May 5, at 11:00 AM at St. Edward the Confessor in Mitchellville. A private burial will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens in Port Republic.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Mackenzie Rose Foundation in honor of his granddaughter.
Michael will be remembered for his enduring love of family and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
