In Loving Memory of Michelle Diana Roberson-TrotterMay 19, 1954 – September 9, 2025

Michelle Diana Roberson-Trotter was born on May 19, 1954, in New York City to Johnnie Mae Davis and Eddie Lee Roberson. She was raised in the Bronx, surrounded by the love of her extended family, including her cherished aunts and uncles. As a child, she found joy in summer visits to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she shared treasured moments with her father, especially enjoying hot dogs at his restaurant. Her visits to her beloved Aunt Gladys in Queens also remained close to her heart.

Michelle pursued her education at Middlebury College in Vermont, where she met the love of her life, Joel David Trotter. After graduating, she began her career in higher education as a recruiter for Colby College in Maine and later at Georgetown University. On July 5, 1980, Michelle and Joel were married, beginning a loving partnership that would last 45 years.

She later transitioned into the corporate world as a business analyst with Xerox Corporation. Her dedication and professionalism eventually led her to the National Defense University, where she found a long-term home and worked for 35 years until her retirement in 2021.

Michelle and Joel were blessed with two daughters, Jamie and Brittany, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. One of her greatest pleasures was spending time at the beach with her family, creating lasting memories during family vacations and quiet getaways.

A woman of deep faith, Michelle was devoted to raising her daughters in Christian values. She found purpose in ministry, co-leading a girl’s group at church, inspiring and nurturing young girls in their faith and identity as they transition into adulthood.

Michelle also found a second passion in Mary Kay, as an independent beauty consultant. She cherished the camaraderie of her “Sisters in Pink,” embracing the company’s mission of empowering women, encouraging entrepreneurship, and celebrating beauty—inside and out.

On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, Michelle peacefully entered eternal rest, reunited in glory with her grandmother Mary, father Eddie, aunts Gladys, Greather, Betty, Bernice, uncles John “L” and Gene, cousins Derrick, Courtney, Eugene, Valerie, and her brother Willie.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace. Her memory will be forever cherished by her mother, Johnnie Mae; her devoted husband Joel; her beloved daughters Jamie and Brittany; son-in-law Jared; and her treasured grandsons, Kai and Khendal. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings Lynda Louis, Ebony McLeod-Roberson, Deborah Slater, Cecilia Roberson, Daryl Roberson, and Derek James; cousins Diane Henderson, Margaret and Tanya Oden; godchildren; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
