Miriam Eileen Johnson Clark, entered Heaven on Thursday October 30, 2025 at the age of 71 after a seven-month fight with Advanced Stage Uterine Cancer. Miriam was born on December 15th 1954 in Brooklyn, New York to Caroline Lumly Johnson and John Johnson. She later moved to Jamaica, New York where she lived with her parents and younger sister, Laureen Bertrand.

Miriam graduated from John Adams High School in 1972 and then attended Queensboro Community College where she obtained an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology in 1979. During college, she met her husband of 49 years, Steve Clark, during their first semester of freshman year. Steve and Miriam dated for four years before marrying in Queens on June 19, 1976. After marrying, Steve and Miriam had one child, Michelle Harris (Clark), in 1990 and later relocated to Laurel, MD.

Miriam held countless roles over her lifetime including Electrical Engineering, Sales, Stay-at-home Mom, and Childcare Provider. She raised not only her daughter Michelle but also provided childcare services for many other members of the family and community. In her spare time, Miriam enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, baking, or indulging in a good murder mystery show/book.

Miriam is survived by her husband (Steve Clark), daughter (Michelle Harris), son-in-law (Korawn Harris), sister (Laureen Bertrand), Aunt (Nancy Wright), two grandchildren (Kameron & Kyla Harris), nine nieces and nephews (Christina, Jean, Camille, Maya, Jabari, Naomi, Chloe, Phil Jr., Tommy), and five grand nieces/nephews (Ava, Arya, Khloe, Maverick, Lathan). She was preceded in death by her parents Caroline Lumly Johnson and John Johnson.

Though Miriam is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through her friends and loved ones. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed.
