Moji Kudi Salako Smith, a gentle soul with a generous heart, passed away on April 4th, 2026. Born on March 9th, 1961, Moji stood as a pillar of strength, bravery, and unyielding positivity. She was known for her warmth, kindness, and the deeply loving spirit she brought into the world.
Mojisola Salako was a native of Iperu-Remo in Ogun State, Nigeria, although she was born in Lagos. She began her early education at Ideal Girls Primary School on Falolu Street in Surulere, Lagos, and later attended Lagos Commercial Academy in Ilupeju for her secondary education. After completing her studies, she furthered her training at Grace Secretariat School, specializing in Administrative Duties and Secretarial Techniques.
Moji later moved to the United States, where she pursued courses in computer technology at a community college in Maryland. She eventually transitioned into the real estate business, working for many years in the field until she became a Mortgage Broker. Through her company, AC Mortgage Incorporated, she helped many families across Maryland achieve the dream of homeownership, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
Moji will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dr. Bukky Salako, Yewande Oyesola, and Adenike Oyesola. She is also survived by her sisters, Adepeju Salako, Adeola Salako, and Shade Salako; her brothers, Babatunde Salako, Abiodun Salako, and Tunbosun “Samson” Salako; and a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Among her greatest accomplishments, Moji took immense pride in raising her three beautiful children. Despite life’s challenges, she never wavered in her compassion for others. She never faltered in caring for her loved ones. She consistently supported her family and extended a helping hand to anyone in need. Her life was a testament to her enduring philosophy: “You can be a survivor, or you can be a victim. The world moves on, even when we’re not ready.”
Moji’s loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of kindness, resilience, and generosity will continue to inspire and live on in the hearts of those she touched.
