On May 19, 2026, Nahla Farkouh passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family in Maryland.

Nahla was born on August 26, 1953, in Homs, Syria. She was the beloved wife of Bassel Nasser; devoted mother of Wael Nasser (his wife Sonia Nader) and Dr. Eiad Nasser (his wife Dr. Lynn Chouhfeh); and cherished grandmother of Cynthia, Basil, Yasmine, and Yara. Her husband, children, and grandchildren were the light of her life.

She was more than a teacher, she was a guiding light to generations of students.

Known for her warm smile, gentle heart, and caring spirit, Nahla earned the respect, admiration, and love of her family, friends, students, and community. Her kindness and grace will always be remembered.

May her soul rest in peace.
