In loving memory of my son Nasire Andrew-Coi Best

Nasire was called home on May 23, 2026

My son Nasire Andrew-Coi Best was born on September 26, 2004 in Silver Spring Maryland, a little guy born at 27 and an half weeks; his weight was 4lbs and 5 ounces, however God showed me grace and allowed Nasire to be apart of my life whereas he would grow into a beautiful person with a beautiful heart, Nasire was known to some as Big Soldier or king; Nasire is loved by his family, friends and anyone who knew him. As a child, Nasire and his aunt heard a song on the TV saying, “I want you to show me the way.” and every time that song came on, I would call his aunt so they could sing the song together; my mother called him Andrew, Nasire enjoyed laughing, listening and learning new things he didn’t just play football or run in track meets; he wanted to know how he could improve himself for the sport. Nasire attended high school and worked at a nearby distribution warehouse in Dundalk Maryland, with his ambition to strive for excellence he made honor roll and graduated from Dundalk High School in 2023; Nasire wanted to move to New York City, compete in marathons, he wanted to attend college and play football; Nasire is survived by his mother Rhonda Melvin, his father, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles and an array of friends whereas he will always live in our hearts and minds; his favorite thing to say was,” That hit different.” followed by uh um. Nasire is now in the arms of my mother who passed away in September of 2025, his grandfather, uncles, great grandmothers, great aunts and the elders who lived before them in heaven.

My son this is not goodbye, this is until we meet again, I will see you later, rest in peace, I will always love and treasure you in my heart and thank you for allowing me to get to know you.
