Patricia “Pat” Lee McGrath, 78, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024 at Arcadia Assisted Living.

Pat was born on October 26, 1946 in Washington, DC to Dorothy and Frank Aldridge and grew up with her two sisters, Dorothy and Cheryl, and one brother, Frank. She was a graduate of Duval High School in 1964. Pat married her husband of 50 years, Andy McGrath, on June 12, 1969. She had long and distinguished career at NASA, GSA, & Army Corps of Engineers achieving the rank of GS-15. Pat was held in high esteem by all her colleagues, which included four star generals, and earned an honor to speak before Congress.

Pat is survived by her two sons Andy and Brian McGrath and their spouses, Brooke and Ashleigh; and three grandchildren, Delaney, Ian, and Iris McGrath. 

Pat had a big heart and welcomed all her family into her home and life. She had a special place in her heart for her sister, Cheryl Benton, and her son, Liam Benton and family; her nephew Eddie Lonaberger and family; and niece Cherie Lonaberger Mills and family. She cherished all her nieces and nephews.

Pat never met a stranger and was known for helping anyone she encountered. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her family was the most important part of her life and she loved nothing more than spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
