Paul "Jerry" Gerard Mulcahy

Paul Gerard “Jerry” Mulcahy, of Queenstown Maryland, passed away at home peacefully on August 15, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Auburn, New York, Paul moved with his family to Maryland at the age of eight, beginning a lifelong connection to the state he called home. As a young man, Paul proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. A gifted athlete, he showcased his passion and talent on the diamond, playing baseball for the Air Force team. While stationed at Plattsburgh Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Annie, who was also serving in the Air Force. The two were married on December 29, 1973, and began their journey together stationed abroad in Germany before returning home to put down lasting roots in Maryland.

Together, Paul and Annie shared an extraordinary partnership spanning over five decades of marriage, filling their home with memorable stories, beloved family traditions, and a running soundtrack of laughter and lively debates. As the family grew from four daughters to sons-in-law and eight grandchildren, Paul and Annie took immense pride in the ever-expanding collection of picture frames taking over the walls—each new photo a testament to the life and family they built together.

Paul was the ultimate girl dad. Fully embracing and acclimating to a house full of women and all the inevitable drama that came with it, he was the steady anchor of his home. He never missed a moment—showing up faithfully for every game, recital, and milestone, and endlessly sharing his immense pride in each of his daughters' accomplishments. His athletic background carried naturally into coaching their sports teams, where he was always their greatest strategist, mentor, and biggest fan. Beyond the sidelines, he was their rock and first phone call for every DIY project of the week, always arriving with steady hands, know-how, laughter and patient guidance.

Committed to hard work, Paul earned his MBA and built a successful career as an art sales representative across the East Coast before retiring in 2019. Throughout his career and personal life, Paul had a natural gift for connection, forging deep, lifelong friendships everywhere he went.

Outside of work, Paul embraced life's simple pleasures. He was a huge history buff, loved hitting the golf course, telling really bad Dad jokes, picking up his guitar to play music, Annie’s infamous meatloaf and settling in to watch classic Westerns via the infinite streaming options. Family trips to Ohio were among his absolute favorites—treasured vacations that held special meaning because they honored and reflected Annie’s home roots and family.

Above all his accomplishments, Paul’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, an extraordinary father, and an adored grandfather to his eight grandchildren. His warmth, humor, dependable strength, and unconditional love leave a legacy that will live on in all who knew and loved him.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife, Annie Mulcahy; his four loving daughters, Melissa (Fred) Thompson, Kristin Tam, Katie (Mike) McGinnis, and Colleen (Michael) Hale; his eight cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Noah, Mikey, Kylie, Austin, Samantha, and Brynn; his brothers, Dan (Joan) Mulcahy, Joe (Kristin) Mulcahy, and Tim (Jane) Mulcahy; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bob and Nancy Boes, Jean Mitsch, Ludee and Tom Yarch, Betty and Curt Gottfried, Bernie and Laurie Boes, and Jon and Theresa Boes; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who held a special place in his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Barbara Mulcahy, and his parents-in-law, Edward and Marie Boes.

• Visitation: August 20, 2026 at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD 20715
  • 2-4 pm: Military Honors;
  • 6-8 pm: Prayer Service (7pm)
• Interment: Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery {Private}
