Peryn Avery Eugene Anthony was born to Shawnee Gladis Mitchell-Logan and Ricardo W. Anthony Sr. on Wednesday, December 5, 1990 in Cheverly, Maryland. Peryn suddenly fell asleep in death Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was the youngest of four siblings, brothers Ricardo, Anthony Jr., Michael Anthony, and sister Shamira Vang.

He was affectionally known by several nicknames: Fatboy, Mufasa, and Luckii the Dad. Peryn grew up in Fort Washington Maryland and formed lifetime friendships – Bryon and Brian Westbrook, who lived across the street and spent many years playing together; Jermaine, Brandon, and Monique Ray, also childhood friends. Peryn was everyone’s baby. Many spiritual moms, fathers, aunts, uncles, brothers, and sisters adopted him, and no one could resist that smile and those long eyelashes. He deeply loved his family, and he wanted everyone to be okay and if they were not, he was not okay.

Peryn attended Tayac Elementary School, along with his siblings and cousin John Anthony. Again, he had the hearts of his teachers who considered him a joy to have in their class. The school principal, Mrs. Powell-Larkin, was especially close to the Anthony children.

He went on to attend Dr. Henry Wise High School in Upper Marlboro, Md. where he academically succeeded and graduated June 2010.

Peryn was a star football player winning the championship against the rival high school in 2012. He also loved to play basketball.

Peryn was a diligent worker, he was employed by various employers – Villa Rosa Nursing Home, SP+Parking Services, K-Mart, Costco Warehouse, and FedEx Field. His employers were very fond of him; he always brought laughter and smiles to a room.

Peryn became a proud father to Ny’re Kiana Anthony September 1, 2012 (Mother Nicole James) Hailey Sa’rae Anthony October 28, 2018, and 1st grandson, Elijah Rashawn Anthony April 4, 2020 (Mother LaShawnda Savoy). Peryn loved his children more than life itself. He would rise early before work spending hours at the daycare with Ny’re, it just made his day, who he fondly referred to as his Nugget. He took her roses to her Kindergarten graduation and was a proud daddy. When Hailey got her ears pierced at 4 months old while sitting on daddy’s lap, he cried. Then came his Babyboy, his mini me Elijah. Peryn enjoyed taking Elijah to his doctor’s appointments, exclaiming “my son has an appointment today!!” with the biggest grin. Anyone who knew Peryn knew he was a plain guy, an old soul who just wanted to make sure he did all he could for his children.

Peryn had a desire to draw closer to Jehovah. Though he had obstacles, he never stopped trying. He would express it verbally and in action, and he did enjoy watching Caleb and Sophia videos with the kids. He would say, “tell my Aunt Tina I am climbing out of this hole.” Right before the pandemic, Peryn expressed that he was going to attend the Memorial of Christ’s Death. Though he missed the bus, Peryn walked to the Kingdom Hall and said to his mom, “Memawh I made it.” He later expressed how much he enjoyed it and how it opened his eyes to greater understanding and appreciation for the ransom sacrifice of Christ Jesus. Peryn told of a brother Nicky Davis who greeted him and offered him a Bible Study and gave him his phone number written on a copy of the Watchtower magazine. Perhaps when he awakes in the Resurrection, he will take Brother Davis up on that Bible study. May we, his mother, father, sister, brothers, children, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all be there to welcome him.

Peryn is survived by his Loving Mother, Shawnee Mitchell-Logan, (Ken Logan) Father Ricardo W. Anthony, Brothers Ricardo William Anthony Jr., Michael Angelo Anthony, Sister Shamira LeChae Vang, brother Lawrence Moore (Naima).
