Peter James Gross

Peter J. Gross, age 85, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, May 8^th.

Pete was born on October 20, 1937 in Riverside, NJ to the late Alice (nee Halpin) and John Gross, the fourth of five children. Pete grew up in Riverside, graduated from LaSalle University and began a 36 year career in government, initially with the Internal Revenue Service and then with the Department of Defense Computer Institute and the National War College for 28 years.

Pete married his wife Kathleen (Kitty) in Washington D.C. in 1967 and last November they  celebrated their 55^th wedding anniversary. Pete was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, their three sons Peter (Rebecca), Charles, and Christopher, four grandchildren Sarah (Thomas), Katie, Ryan, and Jenna. He is also survived by his sister Catherine Ann Segrest, and many nieces and nephews.

Pete was registered as an organ donor and his family is heartened by the knowledge that at the end of his life, he was able to provide a life affirming gift to another soul who was suffering.

Pete was a wonderful husband and father and we will miss him dearly.
