Raymond Ritter Smith III, 29, of Bowie, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
Raymond was born on March 5, 1997, in Annapolis, Maryland, to Raymond Smith Jr. and Gina (Eubanks) Smith. Ray grew up in Bowie, where he formed lifelong friendships and was known for making the people around him feel included and for always keeping things light, making sure everyone was laughing and having a good time.
Raymond graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School in 2015 and earned dual degrees in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2020. He went on to work as a business advisor for two major consulting firms.
Raymond was known for his kind and generous spirit and his quick and quirky sense of humor. He loved cheering on his local teams as well as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and enjoyed playing sports, especially golf. He always seemed to have a tee time lined up. He also enjoyed trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with those he loved most. Raymond was someone you could always count on to be there - whether it was to watch a game, play a round of golf, or simply spend time together.
He is survived by his father, Raymond Smith Jr.; his mother, Gina (Eubanks) Smith; his sister, Savannah Carter (Stephen); his brother, John Paul “Pauley” Smith; his sister, Mary Elizabeth “Bethy” Smith; and his niece, Maeve Carter.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rebekah Hope Smith, his grandfathers, Raymond Smith and Jerry Eubanks, and his uncle, Richard Eubanks.
