On May 12, 2022, Rebecca “Becky” Gibbs, age 89, went to be with her Lord. Born in Alexandria, Virginia, she was the youngest of five children, of which siblings Helen “Lucille” Bortz, William “Bill” Nichols, and Thomas “Tom” Nichols preceded her in death. Her husband, Robert “Bob” Gibbs, also preceded her in death in 1991 (63 years). Becky is survived by her older sister, Betty Howard, who currently resides in Culpeper, Virginia, and her sister-in-law Rosalie Bailey who lives in Staunton, Virginia.

She is survived by her three children, Kelly Rothbard (husband David, deceased), Stephanie Gibbs, and Darren Gibbs (wife Sandy) as well as her eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Emily Rothbard Morgan (husband Alex; children David & Phoebe), Ashley Rothbard, and Lydia Rothbard; and Trevor (wife Shellsea), Preston, Samantha, Morgan, and Courtney Gibbs.

While living in Lanham, Maryland, Becky was active at Grace Baptist Church (Bowie, MD) where she taught children’s Sunday School and later in the Nursing Home Ministry. She enjoyed laughing (a lot), going to lunch with friends, family, and listening to Focus on the Family and Christian talk/music on the radio and television. 

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Mr. Ron Onks, a missionary in Australia, c/o Grace Baptist Church (7210 Race Track Road, Bowie, MD 20715).
