Richard B. Bartman

Richard Bruce Bartman, 97, was born on October 27, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He left this earth and passed peacefully in his sleep at his home on Monday November 21, 2022. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Alice, and his father George Bartman and mother Bertha Hoehne, and his infant son James Timothy. He is survived by his children Robert Paul, Lawrence John, Peter Lee (Joy), Judith Eileen Martin (Gary), George Richard (Linda). He has one grandchild Joseph Peter Bartman. He served honorably in the Army Air Corps from September 1945 to November 1947 when he attended Weather Observers School and Weather Forecaster School. He was a meteorologist working for and retiring from the National Weather Service as part of NOAA. He was an avid gardener and also a faithful volunteer with Meals on Wheels and the Share Food Project at St. Columba and Ascension Churches. He sang in both choirs.  Richard and Mary were married at St. Robert's Church in Shorewood Wisconsin on May 24, 1952.  Their six children were born in four different cities from Green Bay Wisconsin to Coral Gables Florida to Omaha Nebraska and finally in Washington DC although they lived in Maryland at the time. Family will receive friends on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 4pm to 6pm at Beall Funeral Home 6512 Crain Hwy (Rt. 3 South), Bowie, MD. A funeral mass will be held at Ascension Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11am.
