Beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Father, and Dear Friend, entered eternal rest on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026 in Milton-Alpharetta, GA. Richard, affectionally known as “Baba” was born April 6,1945 the son of Gloria Bostic Kirk Bennett and William Frank Kirk in Goldsboro, NC.

Richard graduated from Dillard High School (1962), Goldsboro, NC and was an active member of the Greater Dillard Atlanta Alumni Chapter; A graduate from North Carolina A&T State University (1966) with a B.S. Degree in Business Administration.

Richard, served in the U.S. Army, 529th MP USAEUR – Provost Marshal, Heidelberg, Germany Tour was honorably discharged. Richard was also an active member of the MP Army Veterans Group. Richard and Sandy planned events and attended Army Veterans reunions over the years.

Richard retired from a successful 25+ year career in Sales, Marketing and Recruitment with Dow Chemical Corporation, Midland, MI. Richard was President of Clarochem; Sigma Group CFO partner; Advisory Board, Alabama, A&M – Arts & Sciences Dept, Huntsville, AL; Advisory Board, Georgia Tech – FANS – Nanotechnology, Atlanta, GA; STEM Program – Various HS – Atlanta, GA; White House Advanced Manufacturing Partnerships – Washington, DC.

Gifted with a scientific mind, Richard never stopped working as an inventor and pioneer in Nano Technology. A tall, dignified professional man, always well dressed and GQ handsome. Devout in his Christian faith Bible studies, he also enjoyed listening to smooth jazz.

Richard leaves to share delightful memories of his life and significant accomplishments, Sandy Johnson Kirk (Spouse; Celebrated 44 years of happiness together.), Candice Kirk Craig/Daughter (Korey), Brooke Brinson (Granddaughter), Brone Brinson (Grandson), Cynthia K. Griffith (Sister), Gloria K. Monk/Sister (Bobby),and Ethel Collette K. Hicks (Sister), Ernestine Ward Bostic (Aunt), Edwina Bostic Wright (Cousin), Janis Williams (Cousin), and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, John Edward Kirk, and William Frank Kirk, Jr. (“Buster”).

On behalf of the Kirk Family, thank you to all who have acknowledged Richard’s life, the expressions of condolences and fond remembrances. The Kirk Family is also accepting expressions of condolences, by contacting Sandy (Spouse), Candice Kirk Craig (Daughter), Cynthia Kirk Griffith, Gloria Kirk Monk, and Ethel Collette Kirk Hicks (Sisters).

A repast is not scheduled, however, the family will gather at a local eatery immediately following the Service.
