Robert Lowe Donaldson

Robert (“Bob”) L. Donaldson died on April 14, 2026, peacefully at home at the age of 83, after a heroic fight with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie Donaldson, his two loving children Nancy Dalton and Noah Donaldson, their spouses Bill Dalton and Elina Donaldson, four grandchildren, Will, Alex, Liam, and Mila, and his five brothers, as well as many friends and colleagues who will miss him very much.

He and his predeceased wife Jenny (d. 2017) founded and built Annapolis Micro Systems in 1982, now a company of roughly 150 employees.

Among his accomplishments, he built a boat, sailed halfway around the world, built a house, restored a boat, sailed the rest of the way around the world, and touched many lives in the process.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CRAB (Chesapeake Regional Accessible Boating) or AOC (Association of Old Crows) Scholarship Fund.
