Robert James Goode, Sr.

Robert James Goode Sr. passed away on August 14, 2025. He is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy (Moon) Goode, his father, John Goode, his sisters, Louann Robertson and Cindy Jenkins as well as his wife, of almost 58 years, Patricia (Wright) Goode. He leaves behind his brother John Buck Goode of Rex Georgia and his wife Sharron, his children, Robert James Goode Jr, William David Goode and his wife Cori, Darren Lee Goode and his wife Lorrie, and Virginia Ann (Goode) Doran and her husband Jared. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, William Goode, Heather (Goode) Ward, Brittany Doran, Casey Doran and Dylan Poff. He also has 5 great-grandchildren whom he loved, Kloe, Kayden, Evan, Noah and Alora.

He was a high ranking officer in the Army as a young man, and rose to the level of GS15 in the Naval Research Lab, working as a metallurgist and did so supported his family until retirement. He was born and raised in McDonald PA and spent much time in Tallahassee Florida and Gastonburg Alabama. He was an avid reader, hunter in his younger days and enjoyed all sorts of fishing. He was a mischievous young man, but in a good way, as anyone who knew him could attest to. He was a man of strong faith in Jesus and lived his life as a Christian man, husband, father and friend and lived it with Christian integrity. He was a nerd to the 'th degree and so much so he was known throughout the world for his metallurgy skills.

He has given to just about every foundation and organization you can think of with a belief that you help others and give back where and when you can.

His Celebration of Life will be set at a future date. If you'd like, you can give to First Baptist Church of Crofton in his honor.
