Rochelle Zap

Rochelle Zap, a resident of the Annapolis area for over 50 years, died on May 9, 2026. She was 88 years old.

Ricky was born in New York and grew up in the Bronx. She graduated from Hunter College with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and became a 3rd grade teacher in a New York City public school. She married in 1958 and raised 2 children. Ricky was an avid reader and history buff. She later worked as a proofreader for the State of Maryland and as a tour guide in Annapolis.

In retirement, she and her husband Dave traveled extensively, enjoying cruises and Elderhostel adult education tours, and visiting their grandchild.

Ricky is survived by her husband Dave Zap of 67 years, her daughter Marjorie (Doug) Nordman, her son Michael (Pam) Zap, her granddaughter Carol (KJ) Pittner, and her great-granddaughter Arya Pittner.
