Ronald Paul McDowell

Ronald Paul McDowell, 84, of Bowie, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on January 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, Paul, as he was known to all of his friends, was raised in the town of Kittaning, and the son of Henry and Jesse McDowell. Paul was one of nine children. He is survived by five brothers and sisters.

In 1962, Paul married Margaretta McCorkle and together they had one son, Michael Paul, in 1968. Margaretta passed away in 2006.

Paul enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly hunting, and valued the time he spent with family and friends. In the past five years, he shared his life with his wife, Helen Nocum. Together, they were part of a large family that included her seven children and 28 grandchildren. They also shared two dogs, Dennis and Cooper.

Paul dedicated 37 years of service to the federal government at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, retiring in 2013.

Paul is survived by his wife, Helen, and son Michael (Sandy), their two children and three grandchildren.

His warmth, dedication and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
