Ruth Alice Buter

Ruth Alice Buter of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2023, after a 4 month battle with lung cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Cary Buter, her daughter Melissa Rowley, her son Fred Miller Jr, and ex-husband Fred Miller Sr.  Her grandchildren – Jennifer Calhoun, Wes Calhoun, Shannon Wooten, Clyde Beyrer, William Yourman, Layton Rowley, Marla Rowley, Kalli Miller, and April Miller. She also leaves behind her siblings, Marion ( Sissie) Pritchett, Richard Buckland, and Pearl Welty. She had many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many long–time friends, all whom she loved dearly.  She was preceded in death by her daughters, Ruthy Calhoun and Debbie Beyrer, granddaughter, Clearinda Beyrer, and grandson, Charlie Yourman.

Ruth was born in Washington, DC. She spent most of her life in Bowie, MD as a childcare provider. She formed very special bonds while working for the families. She later moved to Frederick, MD to care for her grandchildren for the past 19 yrs. She planned to move with the family to South Carolina. 

She loved spending time with her beloved husband, Cary.  Her favorite things were family, friends, pizza parties, and cook-outs. She loved giving the kids cookies, candy and snack bags. She was adored by many for her kind and generous spirit. She brought joy to others with her caring demeaner, beautiful smile, and funny antics. She had a strong faith in God that was evident by her serving heart. She touched many lives and her memory will live on in our hearts.
