Sally Lou Ward, 90, of Deale, Maryland, passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.

Sally is survived by her sons, Bryan (Susy) Ward and Adam (Jeannine) Ward, and her daughter, Lisa Bryl; seven grandchildren, Cody Bryl, Adam (Nicole) Ward Jr., Dylan Bryl, Haley (Jeremiah) Batucan, Mitchell Ward, Tori Bryl, and Anna (Jordan) Armga; and two siblings, sister Sandra Pizzi and brother Charles Campbell.

Born February 15, 1936, in Kane, Pennsylvania, Sally was the daughter of the late June (Field) Neiswonger and Frederick C. Campbell. She was a graduate of Bradford High School in Bradford, Pennsylvania.

Sally married Richard Ward on April 15, 1963. They shared many years together until his passing on August 23, 2016.

The eldest of 10 siblings, Sally experienced a difficult childhood. Due to financial circumstances, she and her siblings were placed in a children's home for a time. As a young woman, Sally moved to Washington, D.C., where she began building a life of her own.

Sally was a devoted homemaker for many years before beginning a career with Dart Drug retail chain, where she worked for more than 20 years and served as Benefits Manager.

Sally had a creative and generous spirit. She especially enjoyed making personalized greeting cards for family and friends to celebrate every occasion, often putting thoughtful words and her own special touch into each one. She also loved crocheting blankets, making her famous Christmas banana oatmeal cookies, and, most of all, spending time with her family. Her handmade cards, crafts, cookies, and countless acts of thoughtfulness were expressions of the love she had for the people around her.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and seven siblings.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sally's life and share memories from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway (Route 3 South), Bowie, Maryland.
