Shirley Ann Mackessy

Born in La Plata, MD to John R. and Clara L. Bowling on January 9, 1935, Shirley graduated from La Plata High School and Towson State Teachers College, and was an elementary school teacher.  

Predeceased by husband Peter D. Mackessy, Shirley is survived and will be missed by three daughters Lynn Mackessy-Lloyd and husband Peter; Karen Carr and husband Douglas; Lori O’Steen and Tom Simon; her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren:  Trevor and Rachel Mackessy-Lloyd, Noah, Clair and Ethan; Ricky O’Steen and Amanda Comi; Megan O’Steen and Spencer Kelly; Zachary Mackessy-Lloyd; and Liam Carr.

Shirley was an exceptionally loving spouse, mother and friend.   Her family and friends will miss her greatly, but continue to keep her love in their hearts.
