Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Barney and granddaughter Katie Meier. Shirley began her professional life at the University of Maryland’s Entomology Dept. It was there she met Barney. She and Barney built a plumbing and heating company which grew into home building. She was a realtor and she loved helping first time home buyers. She was a member of Soroptimist International, a volunteer mission to uplift and empower women and girls in the local community. Shirley loved being a Girl Scout leader for many years and helping girls to learn many life skills.
