"Steven F Beane passed away after a courageous battle with aggressive liver cancer. Born in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Steve grew up in an Air Force family that took him from Massachusetts, to California, back to Massachusetts, on to Spain, New York, Florida, and back to Massachusetts, this time on the Cape--moves that shaped his gregarious spirit and lifelong ease with people from every walk of life.
Following his father's example, Steve voluntarily enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, serving as a Missile Electronics Technician. He carried that sense of discipline, precision, and quiet pride into a successful civilian career in communications and technology. Working with companies including IBM and ROHM Semiconductor. In the middle of his career, he spent some time in Saudi Arabia working for Aramco, and traveling the Middle East, meeting his bride-to-be, Tanya in Lebanon. Back in the states he built an independent consulting career as an SAP training consultant for Loblaw Companies and as president of SAMRA Consulting. Colleagues remember him as patient, practical, and generous with his time. They remembered him as someone who made complex systems understandable and teams more confident.
Steve also had a gift for music. A self-taught, yet accomplished, guitarist and bass player. He found joy in filling rooms with melody--whether playing bands, for friends and family, or simply to unwind. He was at home on the open road. A passionate motorcyclist and avid Harley ride. He loved the freedom, camaraderie, and quiet clarity that came with two wheels and a long horizon. He was also an avid scuba-diver, teaching and taking his family on world-wide scuba adventures.
Above all, Steve was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Tanya; his sons Kevin in Bowie, MD, and Jeff (with wife Mary) in Reno NV; and by his grandchildren Christian, Jasmine, Donnell, Kaleigh, Kolin and Josiah; and also great granddaughter Delilah. He is also survived by his siblings, Arthur, Peter, Teri, Betsy, and John, along with their extended families. However, he was predeceased by his parents, Arthur E. and Mary G. Beane, and his sister Chris.
A proud veteran, steadfast friend, and natural encourager, Steve will be deeply missed by his extended family and many friends."
