Tanya Maria Barrows, beloved wife, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and colleague, passed away on July 25, 2026. Born on August 8, 1957, to Edward and Zelma Pinder, Tanya lived with remarkable joy, strength, grace, and determination.

Tanya enjoyed seafood, shopping, traveling, dancing, and doting on her family. Her passion for fitness included daily walks, Zumba, and belly dancing. She also enjoyed a distinguished career with the District of Columbia Courts, AT&T, MCI, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the Office of the Comptroller of Maryland.

In 2007, Tanya met the love of her life, Bart Barrows. They married on September 19, 2014, and shared a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, dancing, travel, and their cherished spirit of "Peace and Love." Tanya faced illness with extraordinary courage, never allowing it to diminish her hope or joyful spirit.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bart; siblings Michael (Lisa), Edward (Susan), Susan (Charles), Dana (Cynthia), Charles (Pam), Bruce, and Marlon; in-laws Katrina Pinder, Bob (Patricia), John (Sandy), Sarah (Richard), Walt, and Russ (Cindy); grandchildren Ella Sue, Harmony, Melody, Lincoln, and Alexander; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sandra; her brothers, Anthony and Steve; her daughter, Kaye Dee; and her son, Matthew Hunt. Tanya's legacy of courage, love, joy, and determination will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
