Terry Lynne Bales, beloved partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 70.

Terry was born in Virginia to Rodney Bales and Marion Malcolm. She grew up in Shady Side, Maryland, where she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Robert “Buzzy” Howes and graduated from Southern High in Harwood, Md. From an early age, Terry developed a deep love for the outdoors and the Chesapeake Bay. Growing up on the water, she enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and simply spending time outside.

Terry spent many years working in the marina business before becoming self-employed in the cleaning industry. She was hardworking, independent, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

For 33 years, Terry shared her life with her beloved partner, Chris Muenzer, in Churchton, Maryland. Together they built a life filled with family, friendship, travel, and countless memories. Terry loved traveling and discovering new places, and she especially cherished the time she spent at Deep Creek Lake.

Above all else, Terry treasured her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and creating memories with them. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Peanut, who brought her endless companionship and joy.

Terry will be deeply missed by her partner of 33 years, Chris Muenzer; his mother, Patricia Muenzer; her daughters, Gwen Rogers Jones and Melissa Rogers Teitelbaum; her son, TJ Rogers; her grandchildren, Andrew Rogers, Aiden Jones, Julia Teitelbaum, and Jacob Teitelbaum; and her siblings, Vicky Bales, Robbie Howes, Denny Howes, and Tina Howes.

She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Bales; her mother, Marion Howes; her stepfather, Robert “Buzzy” Howes; and her brothers, Rod Bales and Vinny Bales.

Terry leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever carry her love with them. Her adventurous spirit, devotion to her family, and generous heart will never be forgotten.

Her life was a gift, her memory a treasure, and she will be loved and missed always.

A memorial service celebrating Terry’s life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Friendship Community Baptist Church, 37 Jewell Road, Dunkirk, MD 20754. A luncheon will follow at Skipper’s Pier, 6158 Drum Point Road, Deale, MD 20751.
