Theresa A. Gallagher

Theresa Anne (Abel) Gallagher, of Gambrills, Maryland, passed peacefully on March 17, 2022, in the presence of her three children.  Terri was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Gallagher, Jr. and her parents Aloysius and Anne Abel of Springfield, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her brother Charles Abel (Barbara) of Nathrop, Colorado.

Born Theresa Anne Abel, on October 15, 1938, in Darby, Pennsylvania, she grew up in Springfield, Pennsylvania and graduated from Holy Child Academy, Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania. 

Terri and Jim lived in Bowie, Maryland for almost 50 years before moving to Gambrills.  She was an active community member and volunteered in the school system for many years, continuing well after her own children had graduated.  Terri also worked as Director of Administration for Georgetown Secretarial College and Executive Assistant to the Vice President of International and Washington Operations of Aerojet.    

Terri is survived by her three children: Lisa Viens (Roger) of Annapolis, Maryland; Deborah Anderson (Larry) of Bowie, Maryland; Stephen Gallagher (Becky) of Berlin, Maryland; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren with number 15 arriving soon, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A private mass and Catholic burial will be held at Sacred Heart Chapel for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DC Firefighters Burn Foundation, PO Box 4565, Washington, DC 20017.

The Queen will be missed by all.
