Tina Louise Turner

Tina L. Turner, 60, of Queens, New York, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, in Annapolis, Maryland, just one day before her 61st birthday. Born on August 3, 1965, to Harold V. Brister Sr. and Ida Brister, Tina lived a life rooted in love, laughter, family, and a vibrant spirit that touched everyone she met.

Tina had a gift for making people feel loved simply by being herself. Her presence lit up every room, and her laughter and energy were unforgettable. She loved deeply, gave freely, and never missed a chance to show others how much they meant to her.

For 28 years, Tina dedicated herself to NJM Insurance Company, where she was known for her hard work, excellence, and unwavering commitment. She was deeply respected by colleagues not only for her professionalism, but for the warmth and joy she brought into every space. Tina had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued—she didn’t just enter a room, she brightened it.

Outside of work, Tina found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved exploring new foods and was an incredible cook. For her, cooking was an act of love. She was always asking if you had eaten, offering you something to try, and making sure you left full and cared for. Feeding others was one of her most natural ways of saying, “I love you.”

Tina also had a strong passion for fashion and beauty. She was known for her signature eyeliner, perfectly matched with her earrings and lip gloss. Her style was bold, confident, and uniquely her own—small details that became lasting memories for those who loved her.

Above all, Tina will be remembered for the way she loved people. She loved her family fiercely, celebrated those around her, and brought heart and humor into every moment. She had a way of turning ordinary days into meaningful memories simply by being present.

A life like her's cannot be measured only in years, but in the love she gave and the lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel K. Turner; her parents, Harold and Ida Brister; her brother-in-law, Michael Blair Turner; and her sister-in-law, Dennise Gayle Turner.

Tina leaves behind a family who adored her and whose lives will forever be shaped by her love. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Demby and Crystal Turner; her son-in-love, Dorshae Demby; her siblings, Herbert Allen and his wife Angela Allen, Michelle Brister, and Melissa Brister; and her grandchildren, Tatyanna Caban, Syanni Benson, Gregory Benson, DeJana Demby, and D'Niyah Demby.

Tina’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She was a devoted godmother to AJ and Ryan Miller and will be deeply missed by her brothers-in-law Robert M. Turner and his wife Jessie M. Turner; Kevin Jefferson and his wife Simona Jefferson; Shemon Jefferson and his wife Melissa Jefferson; and her sister-in-law Dina Carr and her husband Joseph Carr. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends who were blessed to know her.She is also survived by her beloved dog, Sir Bentley Kalman Turner, and her grand-dogs Marbles Demby and Coco Turner, who brought her great joy.

Tina leaves behind a lifetime of love that will continue to comfort those who knew her. Her daughters will carry her strength. Her grandchildren will grow up surrounded by her love. Her family and friends will continue to share her stories, laugh at her sayings, and cherish the many ways she made life brighter.

Tina L. Turner was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed. Her laughter, her style, her generosity, her love of food, and most of all, her devotion to her family will live on in all of us.

Until we meet again, we love you, we miss you, and we will carry you always.

Celebration of Life

A service honoring Tina’s life will be held at Anderson Funeral Home on August 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Family, friends, and all who were touched by Tina are invited to join in celebrating her memory, sharing stories, and surrounding one another with the same love she so freely gave.
