Listen to Obituary

Virginia R. Breneman lovingly known as “Ginny” to many friends and family and affectionally called “Mimi” by all who loved her passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026. Born in Seth, West Virginia on April 17, 1942, to the late Ray and Nola Guthrie she was one of seven children. She graduated from Sherman High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corp.

Ginny was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Michael Breneman. She is survived by her children Michael Grant (Lisa), David Grant (Valerie), Kelly Grant, Ginger Breneman, Ann Breneman, Laura Dennis (Adam); her grandchildren Alexis Grant, Matthew Grant, Chase Breneman, Rian Dennis, Lucy Dennis, Addison Breneman, Zachary Dennis, Ashton Elm, Carmen Elm, Jim Carter Jr, and Christina Carter; her great grandchildren Tyler Davis and Alyssa Davis; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Ginny was known for her kindness, generosity, and guidance. She became a second mother to many who were fortunate to know her. She was always willing to help and was accepting of all people. Nothing brought her more joy than the people who called her Mimi. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with them. She embraced anyone who needed the love, comfort, and encouragement of a Mimi.
