Virginia Ann Osorio, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2025, at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. She was born on April 12, 1939, in Washington, D.C., to loving parents, Margaret Rosalie Mattingly and Arnold C. Duff. A devoted homemaker, Virginia dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving environment for all who entered her home.
She is survived by her beloved children, Marina Osorio and the late Judy Freeman and Barbara Barahona, who carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. As a grandmother, she delighted in the company of her grandchildren: Lucy, Roland Jr., Jorge Jr., Sally, Jennifer, Christopher, Jesse, and Raquel. Virginia’s home was a gathering place filled with laughter, stories, and the sweet aroma of her cooking, always welcoming to her family and friends.
Virginia was also blessed with siblings—Earl Duff, Mary Oliff, Tommy Oliff, Margaret (Peggy) Stevenson, and Theresa Rose—who shared countless memories with her, standing by her side through life's ups and downs. Her bonds with her parents and siblings shaped her into the loving person many came to admire.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Virginia’s remarkable life and enduring spirit. Visitation will be held on July 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Beall Funeral Home, located at 6512 Crain Hwy, Bowie, MD. A funeral service honoring Virginia’s life will take place on July 30, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, located at 3211 Sacred Heart Way, Washington, DC.
Virginia Ann Osorio will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to shine in the hearts of her loved ones.
