Virginia Mary Wiltsey

October 9, 1946 — January 7, 2023

Virginia (Mary) Wiltsey, 76, of Davidsonville went to be with her Savior Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home.  She was born October 9, 1946 in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Albert Tither Greenwood and Linna Virginia Greenwood and fraternal twin to Joseph Albert Greenwood. After marrying the love of her life, she and her husband lived in England from 1966 to 1968. Mary worked for the National Security (NSA) over the span of 36 years from 1965 to 2001, and stayed home four of those years to raise her children. She was active in the Bowie Women’s Club in the 1980’s and also worked part-time as a realtor.

Throughout her life, she was an avid baker of cakes, cookies, and gingerbread houses at Christmastime. Mary was also a huge Star Wars fan and an animal lover, caring for many dogs and cats throughout the years. She was a former member of Grace Baptist Church and had served with Vacation Bible School, nursing home ministry, and was active in the Ambassador’s Bible Study and Precepts classes. She later became a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She had enjoyed multiple vacations to the Outer Banks over the years as well, where she first went on her honeymoon.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ernest Wiltsey, her sons Paul (Kriston) and David (Lori), brother Joseph Greenwood (Lou) and sisters-in-law Patricia Snodgrass (Charlie) and Peggy Morey (Pete), grandchildren: Joshua, Elizabeth, Lucas, and Andrew, as well as various nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted on January 16 at 2 PM at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Bowie, Md. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
