October 23, 1926 – March 19, 2021

Betty Jane Burke, 94, of Largo MD, wife of the late Edward Burke, Sr. passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021. Born and raised in Punxsutawney, PA, she was the 2^nd youngest of 9 children born to Merle and Mary Spencer. Betty is survived by her children; Michelle, Edward, John and Kenny; her 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandson.

Betty lived a full life raising her family and employed as a unit clerk for more than 20 years at Prince Georges County Hospital.  She was also active in her church and as a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the VFW Post 7757.

Family and friends would describe Betty as a loving, compassionate, and generous woman who devoted much of her time and energy doting on her family. Her favorite activity was hosting family birthdays and get-togethers where there was always an abundance of Grandma’s home-baked sweets (her second favorite activity).  Betty enjoyed playing bingo, completing jigsaw puzzles, reading, listening to country music, and watching Washington football.
