Daniel A. Gentilcore

July 27, 1927 — December 18, 2020

It is with a heavy hearts but full hearts that we announce on December 18, 2020, the Lord accepted our loving husband, father and friend into eternity and granted him peace for a life well lived. Daniel Anthony Gentilcore is a godly man with humbleness, kindness, strength, and selflessness and the light of his life is radiant for all time. He is a true servant who greeted you with a smile and offered his hand to help and encourage. Daniel (Dan) was born to a loving Italian family in Washington, DC on July 27, 1927. His parents Vita and Antonio, and his six siblings were the foundation of his values. After serving in the Navy, he was blessed to meet Elizabeth (Betty) Verna, from Drexel Hill, PA.  After sixty-seven years of marriage, they still held hands and cherished each other.

He experienced a successful career in the printing industry and mentored others with his work talents. He was an avid cook and also enjoyed gardening, golfing and sharing time with his family.  His homemade Italian meals were made with love for special family gatherings. His spiritual joy was strengthened as a long-time parishioner and volunteer of Holy Family Church in Davidsonville, MD.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty, and their five children, Andrea, Daniel (Anne), Angela (Kevin), Pete and Diana (Kemp) and nine grandchildren, Erin (Robert), Kevin (Bess), Ava, Vincent, Jack, Olivia (Keegan), Liv, Felicia and Nicolas and four great-grandchildren Easton, Owen, Gavin and Ryan.  All have been blessed with his optimism and inspiration.

Lord, in your mercy, lift Daniel Anthony Gentilcore to your lofty places and give him peace and comfort.

There will not be a public funeral. Dan will be interred at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, Maryland.
