Kathleen Ann English

October 1, 1959 — February 6, 2020

Suddenly, on February 6, 2020, Kathy (Federici) English went home to be with the Lord. She was born in Washington, D.C. on October 1, 1959. She was the daughter of Francis A. Federici and Betty M. Federici of Bowie, Md.  Kathy lived in Bowie throughout her childhood and attended grade school at St. Pius X Catholic Church.  She went on to graduate from Bowie High School in 1978, after which she was hired by Giant Food where she was employed for over 20 years. The customers would seek out her checkout line and wait patiently to be waited on by Kathy.  Her pleasant nature, kindness and ability to get along with even the most challenging customers were legendary.  In her later years, she was employed with Kohl’s Department Store where she continuously impressed everyone with her kindness.

In 1979, Kathy married her High School sweetheart, Richard (Buddy) English.  They were happily married for 23 years during which time she gave birth to five boys: Richard (Little Buddy), Andrew, Joseph, Benjamin and Joshua. Her heart was forever broken when her son, Joseph passed away shortly after birth.  In spite of this, Kathy was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest pleasure was spending quality time with family.  She loved going to the beach at Ocean City, Maryland and spending time at Colonial Beach, Virginia with her extended family.  She also enjoyed trail riding with her children and grand children.

She is survived by her beloved children, Buddy and Ashley (Siemer), Andrew, Benjamin, Josh and Taylor (Lagana); siblings, Mike and Diane (Reckline), Frank and Beth (Ayala), Jack and Phyllis (Garner), Donna and John (Loubier); grandchildren, Kylie, Nathan, Bella and Dominic; nieces and nephews, Dana, Beth, Angelia, Toni, Kristin, Dawn, and Mikey T.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis (Bubba) Federici and Betty Federici; son, Joseph A. English; and nephew, Christopher Loubier. She and her husband spent a lot of time with Christopher as he was growing up and enjoyed his company immensely.

Kathy had a strong faith in God and can now rest peacefully in knowing that she will be reunited with her son Joey, whom she missed dearly. She will be forever in our hearts, for those who loved her so.
