Mai was born on April 24, 1954 in Dalat, Vietnam to Father Nguyen Van Bay and Mother Nguyen Tuyet Huong. She had first hand experiences of the war in Vietnam, but would come to love her newly adopted country of the United States.

Mai was a beloved employee of the Blue Dolphin Seafood Bar & Grill in Gambrills, Maryland. She truly enjoyed all of her customers and considered them as her own family.  She was accomplished in cooking, bowling and the Shotgun Sports of trap, skeet and sporting clays. She was twice honored by the National Sporting Clays Association as the Woman's State Champion for the State of Maryland. She was also nationally ranked for over a decade of shooting sporting clays. She was an avid supporter of Ducks Unlimited, National Turkey Federation and local charity concerns. Most importantly, Mai attained countless numbers of friends over the years, whom she loved to spend time  with; and all that  truly knew  her, reciprocated that  affection.

Her deepest passion rests with the bond she enjoyed with her beloved grandchildren, Samantha and Ashlyn that she will undoubtedly miss.

Mai may be visited at the Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway (Rt 3 South), Bowie, Maryland, on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 6pm to 8pm.
